History: Terry Elementary was built in 1964 due to the increase in population in West Little Rock. The school was named after David D. Terry who was involved in state government and very active in community affairs.

Principal
Greetings everyone! I am Holly Brown, the new interim principal at Terry Elementary for the 2021-22 school year. I am beginning my 25th year as an educator in the Little Rock School District. I have taught in several schools: Washington Magnet, Williams Magnet and Terry Elementary, in various grade levels: kindergarten, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and 4th grade, throughout my career. When I left the classroom, I worked as a Literacy Coach and then a Multi-Site Instructional Facilitator for the district, before becoming the assistant principal at Fulbright Elementary for the past four years. I have enjoyed each and every one of these schools and the positions that I have held and am looking forward to what the future holds here at Terry this year.

I have been married to my wonderful husband for almost 28 years and we have three beautiful children. I will have my first grandbaby this October and am counting down the days! As far as my hobbies and interests go, I believe in taking care of your physical and mental health so you can be the best version of yourself. I have been a Jazzercise instructor for over 12 years now and don't know what I would do without it! When school is not in session, my favorite thing to do is travel. I am so intrigued by the various places, cultures, activities, and cuisine that our world has to offer.

​I value relationships between the school and families and will work hard to build positive connections between the two. I am delighted to be here and look forward to partnering with all of you in the upcoming school year!

Hello there! My name is Mrs. Young and I’m delighted to be joining the Terry Tiger team. My husband and I reside in Jacksonville with my two bonus children, Mason and Isaiah.

I earned a master's degree in Educational Leadership at the University of Arkansas Fayetteville and a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. I spent my professional career here in the Little Rock School District, where I previously served as a Curriculum Specialist and R.I.S.E Arkansas Trainer of Teachers. I also served as a multi-site Literacy Instructional Coach, an Academic Instructional Facilitator, and a teacher.

Terry is the school where I started my teaching career! I have always had a passion for children and learning. My goal is to inspire and transform others. During my role at Terry, I plan to motivate and impact students to reach their full potential. I know this can be done with collaboration from students, teachers, and families. I look forward to an awesome year! ​
